The four ships of the Finnish Silverline were in Hämeenlinna (27.6.2011)

In Midsummer Eve 24.6.2011 there was an exceptionalsight in the harbour of Hämeenlinna. The four ships of the Finnish Silverline were in Hämeenlinna at the same time. Three of them (m/s Silver Moon, m/s Silver and m/s Tampere) were full of german passengers who were enjoying of the Finnish Midsummer atmosphere onboard. m/s Silver Swan was at the same time on the lake Vanajavesi arranging the Midsummer Cruise to Finnish clients.

Restaurant Boat (m/s Tampere) has succesfully started the lunch and evening cruises on lake Pyhäjärvi in Tampere. Last Friday on the 27th of May there was the beginning of the regular traffic to island Viikinsaari, an oasis in the heart of the city of Tampere. And finally, tomorrow on the 1st of June there will the starting date of the regular cruises between Tampere and Hämeenlinna.

Welcome to enjoy our versatile cruises in beautiful lake scenery. Furthermore, the island Viikinsaari is a great place to spend an entire summer day swimming and eating well or even dancing. In island is also a cosy à la carte restaurant and a lot of programme for children.

m/s Rosendahl on lake Näsijärvi (5.4.2011)

Finnish Silverline transferred m/s Rosendahl from Pyhäjärvi to Näsijärvi, Mustalahti harbour for charter cruises. Steel vessel m/s Rosendahl, built in 1990 with length 13,2 m, is a charter boat equipped with a sauna. Cruising speed is 7 knots, 13 km/h. Recommendable passenger capacity is 2-20 persons, maximum capacity is 40 persons.

Catering is by agreement on m/s Rosendahl, food and beverages can be ordered in advance to the boat or you can bring your own.

New office will be opened in spring 2011 (23.11.2010)

Finnish Silverline and Poet's Way will open new office premisesand ticket sales at Laukontori harbour in Tampere city centre. Opening of the new office pavillion will bein 16.5. Office hours will be on weekdays at 08.30 - 17.00 until 16.8. You are warmly welcome to get further information on the cruises of Finnish Silverline and Poet's Way, Restaurant Boat's lunch and evening cruises and the boat traffic to island Viikinsaari.

There will also be a separate ticket sales during the boat traffic to Viikinsaari 27.5. - 14.8.which will be open on Tuesdays-Satrudays at 09.30 - 20.00 and on Sundays at 11.30 - 18.30, in July also on Mondays at 09.30 - 20.00.

Office in address Laukontori 10 A 3, in the city centre of Tampere, will also continue its operation. Office hours are on weekdays at 09.00 - 16.00 all the year round. Rock The Boat Final! (25.9.2010)

Famous Finnish rock rules on Saturday 25.9. There will be three cruises. At 17.00-19.00 will be performing Pauli Hanhiniemi and at 22.00-24.00 Mustat Enkelit Duo. One of the cruises at 19.30-21.30 offers Stand Up comic art. Tickets 19 €/person/one cruise and 49 €/person/all three cruises.

On Friday 22.10. onboard m/s Tammerkoski performing Tuomari Nurmio, price 25 €/person including cruise and programme.

Steam engine of s/s Pohjola in Mustalahti Harbour (17.6.2010)

On Wednesday June 17th 2010, restored steam engine of s/s Pohjola was transferred to Mustalahti harbor. Steam engine is showcased in a glass cabinet along description about s/s Pohjola written by Juhani Valanto.

Steam engine was renovated during 2009 and 2010 by Reino Puumalainen and Sami Salo. Many different participants were involved in making this showcase possible and Poet’s way would like to thank them all!

Swedish pop-star Pandora on Finnish Silverline (24.5.2010)

Famous Swedish pop singer Pandora performed onboard m/s Tammerkoski on Friday 21.5.2010. Before the show the passengers enjoyed themselves on the sunny terrace. The weather literally cherished the audience. Pandora started her show with acoustic songs, for example songs from C.C.R. The second performance really made the audience feel themselves good! Old great hits of Pandora worked really smoothly also in the small premises of the boat. Pandora seemed to enjoy the performance also herself – she got wild and jumped on the deck outside and showed up to the passengers of m/s Tampere next to m/s Tammerkoski. Thank you Pandora!

Sulo Sohlo (11.3.2010)

Sulo Sohlo is Mascot of Finnish Silverline. Sulo can be seen on Laukontori, onboard or in Viikinsaari. Sulo likes to dabble with children and cruise guests.

Tallinn Tourest 12.-14.2.2010 (22.2.2010)

Finnish Silverline participated in TourEst travel in Tallinn at Estonian Fairs hall. There were over 23 000 visitors during three days. Many visitors were interested in the city of Tampere and the lake cruises.

Rock-Cruises

Rock Cruises Finnish Silverline arranges several rock cruises during sailing season. m/s Tammerkoski leaves from Laukontori harbour in Tampere city centre at 19.00 for 3-hour-cruise. There will be famous performers: on Fri 14.5. Martti Servo Duo, on Fri 21.5. Pandora from Sweden, on Wed 26.5. Bryan Adams (in Ratina stadium), on Tue 1.6. AC/DC (in Ratina stadium), on Sat 12.6. Dave Lindholm, on Fri 6.8. Kauko Röyhkä. When Bryan Adams and AC/DC have concerts in Ratina stadium, our boat will cruise near the stadium and you will be able to listen to the concert on the boat.

In Viikinsaari island will be arranged several happenings with famous Finnish performers: on Sun 30.5. Pauli Hanhiniemi & MAD, Costi & Pojat, on Fri 11.6. Juha Tapio, on Fri 3.9. Aarne Tenkanen's crab party.

Survival suit adventure at the lake Pyhäjärvi

The new cruise of the winter season is to dip into the ice cold water. During the cruise the ship will anchor at the waters of lake Pyhäjärvi, passengers will jump into the survival suits and swim in icy lake Pyhäjärvi.

Laiva Oy Matkailu has purchased the boats of Tammer Line Oy

Suomen Hopealinja Oy ( Finnish Silverline ) bought 29.01.08 all the boats of Tammer Line Oy and started route traffic also to the Viikinsaari island. Suomen Hopealinja Oy will rent from the city of Tampere also the restaurant and the grill at Viikinsaari island.

Among the contract Suomen Hopealinja Oy will become the biggest inlake shipping company in Finland based on the amount of passengers. The goal for the season 2008 is 106.000 passengers. The number of fulltime employees will be 4 person and season workers around 70 person.

The improvements for the season 2008 will be among other things increasing the Viikinsaari island opening hours and happenings, to offer different kind of cruises and the restaurant boat operating as a VIP at home games of the soccer team Tampere United.
